SB-10 Bail seems to still be alive. What that means for the bail bondsman of Riverside is still to be determined. The bill was introduced by Senators Hertzberg, Allen, Anderson, Atkins, Beall, Bradford, Lara, Mitchell, Monning, Skinner, Wieckowski, and Wiener back in December of 2016. It was last amended in the senate in September of 2017. It still seams to be alive and well as it sits in committee waiting to be re-read and re-referred to the committee after approval of authors. San Diego's own Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego) chaired the committee and felt that the legislation did not belong in the Public Safety Committee. In the last amendment counties like Riverside would be given 2 years to phase in the provisions, and give bail bond agents and companies time to adjust.
